As Khalid felt the chicken grip his hand, he screamed in terror, “Oh God! The chicken is going to rape me!”

The chicken nodded arrogantly, shaking its backside. “My groom, today is a day of joy—help yourself and cooperate with me.”

She stretched her beak toward Khalid’s face. “Come closer so I can kiss you, my love.”

Khalid turned his face away, spitting saliva in disgust. The chicken suddenly flew up, flapping its wings, and landed squarely on Khalid’s foot atop the fan. Feeling it there, Khalid broke down sobbing:

“Oh no! It’s going to turn me into a rooster! Zarah, the chicken is going to turn me into a rooster!”

The chicken scraped Khalid’s knee with its claws and said:

“What’s the difference between you and a rooster, my groom? You’re the same to me.”

As Zarah tried to speak, the chicken thigh addressed her:

“My bride, give me space—or I’ll take you away where no one can find you.”

Hearing this, Zarah also burst into tears, completely overwhelmed. At that moment, Zarah’s phone rang—the ringtone was Qur’anic recitation. As the sound filled the room, everything vanished: the chicken, the chicken thigh, even the rooster it claimed to be.

Khalid suddenly fell from the fan onto the bed with a loud thud, completely drained. Turning weakly to Zarah, he whispered, “Zarah… today we barely survived.”

Zarah wiped her tears and said, “Khalid, by God, I’ll leave this house by morning. Can you imagine—a chicken thigh saying it will rape me?”

Khalid rubbed the spot where the chicken touched him and replied, “Thank God it didn’t rape me. Can you imagine—a chicken threatening to rape me?”

Zarah ignored him and picked up her phone to answer the call when they heard footsteps approaching the room. Khalid quickly grabbed the bedsheet, wrapped himself around Zarah, and whispered, “Hide me! She’s back—I swear the chicken will rape me.”

Before Zarah could respond, a voice from the doorway said, “You’re lucky, but nothing lasts forever—be patient till the river.”

Their bodies went cold. Khalid wanted to call for help but was afraid to move. Thinking quickly, Zarah switched her phone to airplane mode and played Qur’anic recitation aloud. The footsteps at the door gradually faded.

Slowly, Khalid put on a long robe and moved to another room set aside for them. He dialed a number repeatedly until it was answered, his voice shaking as he spoke:

“Mallam of spirits, there’s a serious problem. It’s my wedding night, but a chicken and roosters won’t let me rest. I nearly got raped by a chicken…”

Before he could continue, Walida’s crying was heard at the door. Khalid sighed heavily and pleaded into the phone, “Please do something—I’m in serious trouble.”

The voice replied, “Khalid, attend to the crying child first. When you’re calm, we’ll talk.”

Overwhelmed, Khalid burst into tears and opened the door. Walida wiped her tears and said, “Uncle, I can’t sleep.”

Khalid replied bitterly, “Neither can we.”

Walida sniffed playfully and said, “Uncle, I can smell rooster.”

Khalid dragged her into the room. “You’ll eat it if you see it.”

Zarah stopped the recitation and confronted her angrily. “You! What’s stopping you from sleeping?”

Walida climbed onto Zarah’s bed and lay down lazily. “Uncle, I want to sleep.”

In rage, Zarah slapped her and shouted, “Get off my bed or I’ll deal with you!”

Khalid jumped up angrily. “Zarah, what is this?”

Walida ran out crying toward her room. Khalid chased after her—and suddenly heard fuurrr above his head. Looking up, he saw the chicken flapping its wings, shouting:

“Tonight, no one will stop me—relatives, come and help!”

Instantly, a flock of chickens descended on Khalid, pinning his hands and legs.

The chicken began to sway seductively. “Let me start my seductive dance to charm my groom.”

As she spoke, her feathers began to fall off. Seeing this, Khalid screamed:

“Zarah, come quick! She’s going to rape me and turn me into a rooster!”
